Enhanced Laser Skin Rejuvenation
Melanin, the dark pigment present in skin, is produced by melanocytes and pigmented lesions occur when an abundance of melanocytes are found in the skin. When dark pigment multiplies, it forms freckles, brown age spots and moles which can be managed by Visage.
Enhanced Laser Skin Rejuvenation is ideal for eliminating:
* Age spots/sun spots
* Broken capillaries
* Flushing
* Freckles
* Pigmentation variances
* Pore Size
* Roseaca
* Sebaceous hyperpasia
* Skin Texture
* Fine lines
* Wrinkles
How it works
Laser light is absorbed by pigmented areas where it is converted to heat, causing a breakup in the pigment. In broken capillaries and spider veins, the laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in the blood, collapsing the unwanted vein. For wrinkles and skin toning, the laser stimulates collagen growth. Your Visage medical professionals will analyze your skin condition and help you select the most effective treatment for you.
When to expect results
Effects are cumulative. After the first treatment you will see improvements to broken capillaries, small facial veins and some pigmented areas within a few days. Other improvements such as wrinkle reduction and toning will be more subtle and may take one to three months. With each subsequent treatment, subtle changes will accumulate until you have achieved the improvement you desire.
Frequency of treatment
A series of three to six treatments, spaced two to four weeks apart, is our standard recommendation. Occasionally, more treatments may be needed for certain individuals or conditions. Periodic occasional maintenance treatments may be prescribed for optimal, lasting results.
What to expect after treatment
Immediately following the procedure you may experience some redness, swelling and/or a slight darkening of pigmented areas. The redness and swelling usually dissipate within one to three days, however, darkened pigmentation may persist and peel lightly for up to one week. Makeup can be applied to the treated area immediately, if necessary. Additionally, hair growth may be impaired in the treated area, although it is not the intended purpose of this particular treatment. It is extremely important to apply a moisturizer with SPF30 sun block and avoid sun exposure on a daily basis to prevent additional sun damage.
Procedure time
This treatment takes approximately 30-60 minutes. Prescribed topical anesthetics may be applied 30-90 minutes before the treatment time if needed.
